On the outside, the game seems lengthy with the number of chapters it has to offer, but don’t let that put you off, as a complete playthrough doing all side quests and a majority of the content on normal difficulty took me around 33 hours. Being able to mostly switch between the four playable characters during battle and exploration moments on the fly, players will get accustomed to Yue Qingshu, the oldest disciple of the Mingshu Sect, Xiu Wu, a Deity tied to Chunzi Spring, Bai Moqing, a disciple of the Xianxia Sect, and Sang Yo, an energetic and humorous Miao doctor that actually had my favorite character development and plot points throughout the 31 chapter presentation. Beginning with a struggle between Three Races and Realms (The Human Realm, Deity Realm, and Demon Realm), Sword and Fairy 7 tells the tale of three human heroes and one Deity as they tackle Vicious Beasts and try to stop an all-out war that would destroy the world. Jumping right into the narrative and lore presented, Sword and Fairy: Together Forever centers heavily on Chinese mythology and incorporates elements of wuxia, shenmo, and fantasy into real-world mythos and stories.
